This room is the first of a sequence of six, originally part of the
16th-century apartment of the cardinal Legate.
Its original use is shown by the wooden ceiling where grotesque motifs
surround the coat of arms of pope Paul III Farnese (1534-1549) and of
Giovanni Moroni, cardinal Legate of Bologna from 1544 to 1548.
